WELCOME!
WE'RE GLAD YOU'RE HERE

We are a group of believers who simply try to follow the Bible as a guide for all we do. Everything done in our worship service is something for which we have a Bible basis. You are welcome to participate as much or as little as you wish. We will sing hymns together and we will observe the Lord's Supper or Communion together. We will also have an opportunity to give to the work of God in this area. This collection is for the members here, and if you are visiting you should not feel and pressure to give. Our lesson time will be divided into two groups. The young children will go to our classroom area in the basement where they will be taught the Bible at a level they can understand. The adults will stay in the auditorium for a lesson at an adult level. We do try to serve the community, and if you have some needs that we can help you with, mention it to one of the members. Thank you for worshipping with us.

FAMILY NEWS

OUR NEW CLASSES ARE STARTING: Wednesday night we are studying the book of Galatians, and on Sunday evenings we are beginning Proverbs starting tonight. Our Sunday morning adult class is starting a series on great individuals of the Bible. We are studying Adam right now. Learning God's Word should be important for all of us, and these are content studies that contain material that should be new to all of us. Join us as we learn and grow in our understanding of God's Word.

CONGREGATIONAL MEETING: It has been a long time since we have had a congregational meeting to discuss the work here, find out what we have done, what our finances are, what we have planned for 2017, and what needs to be done. We have some logistical problems that need to be addressed, and we need some plans for efforts during the coming year. An outline is available for each family of things that need to be addressed. Plan now to stay and bring your ideas. We need everyone on board for our work here, because we can be sure that Satan will try to stop us. God will help us overcome this, but we need to be united in our desire and effort to do so.

FOOD PANTRY PROBLEMS

One of the good programs that this congregation is involved in is the ministry of providing food for families in our area that do not have adequate food. We have been at this for quite a while, and a lot of good has been done. One thing you can always count on is that Satan will attack any good work that the followers of Jesus do, and that means we have to be united and alert to make sure Satan's attacks are not successful.

One problem we always face is that there are people who will abuse the system. There are those who will go to a place where groceries are being given to people in need, get as many groceries as they can, and then turn around and sell the groceries. We are trying to feed hungry people and not promote the use of alcohol or gambling. Because of this issue we want everyone to know that we are no longer going to give groceries to people we cannot see. What I mean is that when people come in and ask for groceries for another family member who could not come, we are going to refuse. We want everyone in the congregation to know why we are doing this, and understand that we will still feed anyone who is hungry; but, we will not subsidize a sin industry. If there is a severe case, we will take food to the person in need; but, we are going to stop providing food for people who we are told about, but do not see in person.

The other issue that we have been having some trouble with is access to our pantry. We have come to the building and discovered that the door of the pantry is wide open and apparently some food has been taken. We have a system that enables us to know who got food and when. It is possible that we might have to give a report to government officials that help us get the food at a discount. Please do not go into the pantry and get food for someone on your own. If you need to get food for someone, contact Patty, Tracey, Tina or Richard. They know the forms and the current situation with the suppliers. God has given us a great resource and we must use it wisely.
