WELCOME!
WE'RE GLAD YOU'RE HERE

We are a group of believers who simply try to follow the Bible as a guide for all we do. Everything done in our worship service is something for which we have a Bible basis. You are welcome to participate as much or as little as you wish. We will sing hymns together and we will observe the Lord's Supper or Communion together. We will also have an opportunity to give to the work of God in this area. This collection is for the members here, and if you are visiting you should not feel any pressure to give. Our lesson time will be divided into two groups. The young children will go to our classroom area in the basement where they will be taught the Bible at a level they can understand. While the adults will stay in the auditorium for a lesson at their level. We do try to serve the community, and if you have some needs that we can provide, mention it to one of the members. Thank you for worshipping with us.

FAMILY NEWS

THE MONTHLY TUESDAY DEVOTIONAL is this Tuesday at 7:00 P.M. at the home of John and Cynthia Clayton. Just bring your Bible and come for an evening of singing, a brief study, and fellowship with other Christians from all over Michiana. If you need directions see John. The address is 1555 Echo Valley Dr., Niles, Mich. 49120.

HELP is needed for Samantha Wheeler to go to the Dominican Republic as a mission outreach to assist in eye surgeries by the doctors in the office where she works. To donate, give a check written to the Dowagiac Church of Christ to John Clayton or Bill Gibson, write on it “Dominican Republic,” then you will have tax credit and the money will go to Sam's expense fund.

ADULT CLASSES: Richard Hoyt has been teaching us on Sunday night at 6:00 P.M. about how we can know that the Bible we have is the complete and accurate will of God. Our Wednesday night class is starting 2 Timothy and Sunday morning is continuing the video series of understanding the message of the Old Testament. You are missing a lot if you are not coming to these classes. We all need to grow in our knowledge of God's Word.

TWO KINGDOMS

INTRODUCTION — You have dual citizenship. (More Scripture references are on THE BACK PAGE below.) (The song we just sang: SONG “I Love Thy Kingdom, Lord.”)
A. Not American and something else.
B. Either Christ's kingdom or Satan's kingdom.
1. Matthew 12:30 — Defines your life.
2. Matthew 12:25-26 — You cannot be both.
3. Matthew 13:41 — There is a war going on.
C. The war is not physical.
1. John 18:36
2. Ephesians 3:10; 6:12
3. What are these two kingdoms about?
I. THE KINGDOMS ARE NAMED AND JESUS IS KING.
A. Matthew 13:41-42 and John 18:36-37
B. Matthew 12:25-26; John 12:31; 14:30; 16:11
C. Satan blinds modern man — 2 Corinthians 4:4.
II. JESUS' KINGDOM IS BASED ON TRUTH.
A.The world lives on lies — John 8:44; 18:37.
III. THE KINGDOMS ARE A MATTER OF DARKNESS.
A. What does darkness entail — Colossians 1:13; 2 Peter 2:10-19?
IV. SUBJECTS OF JESUS' KINGDOM ARE THOSE IN CHURCH.
A. “Church” is the called out — not the building.
B. Obedience is part of being “called out.” Personal response to God.
V. SUBJECTS ARE THE FORGIVEN.
A. Forgiveness is not contingent on how good we are.
B. Notice two kinds of unforgiven — Matthew 13:41-42:
1. Those who cause sin.
2. Those who do evil.
VI. SUBJECTS ARE THOSE WHO SERVE.
A. The “Synagogue of Satan”? How does Satan use it?
B. What was prepared since the creation — Ephesians 3:10-11?
VII. SUBJECTS OF CHRIST HAVE A NEW BIRTH
A. What does a “new birth” do.
B. Why reject it?
VI. CHRIST'S KINGDOM IS ETERNAL AND WITH GOD.
A. Satan's kingdom will be destroyed.
B. The second death.

THE BACK PAGE

TWO KINGDOMS

JESUS' KINGDOM SATAN'S KINGDOM
Called his.
Matthew 13:41; John 18:36
Called Satan's.
Matthew 12:25-26
Jesus is King.
John 18:37
Satan is prince, ruler.
John 12:31; 14:30; 16:11; 2 Corinthians 4:4
Based on truth.
John 18:37
Built on lies.
John 8:44
Called out of darkness.
Colossians 1:13
Kingdom of darkness.
Colossians 1:12; 2 Peter 2:10-19
Made up of Jesus' church
Galatians 3:26-27; Ephesians 2:19;
Philippians 3:20; 1 John 3:10
Made up of wicked of the world.
Acts 26:18; 1 John 5:19
and those who refuse to obey God.
Is a spiritual Kingdom
John 18:36
Is a physical kingdom ruled from the “heavenly realm.”
Ephesians 6:12
Made up of those forgiven
Colossians 1:13-14
Made up of those who offend and do iniquity.
Matthew 13:41-42
Made up of those who served.
Matthew 25:34-40
Made up of the synagogue of Satan.
Matthew 25:41-46; 1 John 3:8, 10; Revelation 2:9
Those who have the new birth.
John 3:3-7
Those who reject God's plan
Acts 26:27-29; Ephesians 3:10-11
Eternity with God.
Revelation 21:1-7; 22:1-5
Eternal destruction.
Revelation 21:8

Look at the comparisons of the two kingdoms. Realize that Jesus' kingdom is vastly different than Satan's kingdom. In John 17:16 Jesus says that his kingdom is not of this world. When we evaluate money, success, pain and suffering, what brings us joy in life and what we are to do with what God has given us, the emphasis is spiritual, not physical.

What is the final result of being a part of Satan's kingdom? Even in a physical sense being a part of Satan's kingdom makes no sense. Disease, catastrophes, isolation, poverty, politics, and economics can all take away what we have. What we have spiritually can never be taken away.
