WELCOME! WE'RE GLAD YOU'RE HERE

We are a group of believers who simply try to follow the Bible as a guide for all we do. Everything done in our worship service is something we have a Bible basis for. You are welcome to participate as much or as little as you wish. We will sing hymns together and we will observe the Lord's Supper or Communion together. We will also have an opportunity to give to the work of God in this area. This collection is for the members here, and if you are visiting you should not feel any pressure to give. Our lesson time will be divided into two groups. The young children will go to our classroom area in the basement where they will be taught the Bible at a level they can understand. The adults will stay in the auditorium for a lesson at an adult level. We do try to serve the community, and if you have some needs that we can help you with, mention it to one of our members. Thank you for worshipping with us.

FAMILY NEWS

FAIR EXHIBIT: We need everyone to sign up to help operate our booth at the Cass County Fair, August 1-6. There are signup sheets on the bulletin board in the lobby. You can work as many shifts as you would like. Those of us who have flexible schedules will fill in times when no one is available.

SINGING: August 14 is the date of our area-wide singing here. We will need help on Saturday, August 13, to set up the tent and get the fellowship area ready for food. Plan to spend Saturday afternoon helping out. The singing starts at 5:00 p.m. If you can bring food and have not let anyone know, be sure to check with one of the ladies about what you should bring.

NEXT POTLUCK: August 7 will be the next potluck. Plan to join us for a wonderful meal together.

WORKING OUR 4H FAIR BOOTH

Next Sunday afternoon we will set up our 2011 Cass County Fair booth. Starting on Monday, we will need to have our booth operational with people available to pass out free materials and answer questions. We plan to have people in the booth from 10:00 in the morning until 10:00 in the evening. That requires us to have four three-hour shifts. It is a good idea for us to have two people available in each shift, but in slow periods there is no reason why both have to be in the booth.

On the bulletin board in the lobby we have sign up sheets for each shift. We hope everyone will sign up for at least one shift. This is a fun thing to do. There are lots of interesting things to do at the fair, and there are some good shows. You can combine working the booth with seeing the fair. In addition, most of us have been surprised at how many times we see people we know who come by the booth.

The requirements for working the booth are to know how to smile and be friendly. We are not at the fair to debate, indoctrinate, or proselyte. We have gifts to hand out to people--balloons, emery boards, refrigerator magnets, New Testaments, a fair bulletin, and some Bible study course materials.

We have several purposes in having a booth at the fair. A major purpose is advertising. We can do the entire fair project for about what it would cost for one newspaper ad in the local paper. People have a human touch and something to take home with them. It is important that we let people know we are here, we care about the community,
and we have some things to offer the community and individuals within the community. This year we have a slightly different theme for the booth in that we are making a special plea to former members of the congregation in this area to return and worship with us. It has been estimated that there are as many as 1,000 former members of the church who are not attending anywhere right now, and we want to let them know we welcome them and want them to be comfortable to return to work and worship with us.

Sign up today and let us work to make this a great outreach!
