TO OUR VISITORS

We are a group of believers who simply try to follow the Bible as a guide for all we do. Everything done in our worship service is something for which we have a Bible basis. You are welcome to participate as much or as little as you wish. We will sing hymns together and we will observe the Lord's Supper or Communion together. We will also have an opportunity to give to the work of God in this area. This collection is for the members here, and if you are visiting you should not feel any pressure to give. Our lesson time will be divided into two groups. The young children will go to our classroom area in the basement where they will be taught the Bible at a level they can understand. The adults will stay in the auditorium for a lesson at an adult level. We do try to serve the community, and if you have some needs that we can help you with, mention it to one of the members. Thank you for worshipping with us.

FAMILY NEWS

POTLUCK DATE CHANGED.
Because of multiple conflicts in early April, our normal "First Sunday Potluck"will be held today! We know this may have caught some unprepared, but plan to stay and eat with us and enjoy some time together. We always have enough food, so do not worry if you did not bring something.

FAIR EXHIBIT. We have a "ballot"for everyone to turn in before you leave today. We have discussed five different ideas for this year's exhibit. Staffing and mechanics issues make it impossible to do multiple themes, so please read over the descriptions and choose one in the choice area at the top of the sheet. Either give the sheet to John Clayton or put it in the "questions" box in the lobby. Thanks.

NEW CLASS. Richard Hoyt is teaching our Sunday night class. The subject is 1 Peter. Richard does a great job--come and study with us. Our Wednesday night class is starting 2 Corinthians this week. We have had a great study with a lot of discussion on 1 Corinthians, so join us for this study.

PLEASE PRAY FOR OUR WORK

We have said many times in this column that we cannot be content to just keep house as a congregation. It is easy to do that since our building is paid for and we have no heavy expenses that challenge our giving. ln Revelation 3:14-22 Jesus makes it clear that he has very little tolerance for lukewarmness and complacency, so we need to work at being evangelistic and outgoing in the community. Over the past several weeks we have had a number of proposals and suggestions of things we can do and work we can be involved in to reach out to the people of this area and to help the church grow. Just as soon as we completed these discussions, some things have happened that seem to be answers to some of our prayers about the future.

We plan to have a class for women once a week starting in June that will allow us to invite ladies in our neighborhoods, in the community, and the general area. This class will be evangelistic in nature and child care will be provided. Material is being secured for this class, and arrangements to care for the children is being made.

It has been decided that we do want to have a fair booth again this year to bring the church to the attention of the community, and hopefully the theme for that booth will be determined by the congregation today.

We are working on a way to reach out to the children of the community. Billy and Debbie Salmon have brought some children to us that have needs, and there is potential for many more children to be reached as we work to help the children already coming. A number of people are working on how to implement these programs and address these needs.

We have gotten information on a sign to put by the oak tree in front that will catch people's attention and allow us to advertise activities. We also have gotten prices on a wheelchair threshold ramp for the fellowship area, and hopefully those two items will be ordered soon.

None of this work and activity will be fruitful without 100% cooperation from all of us, and we can begin by praying every day for each of these efforts. Please include this in your prayers--remember that "the prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective" (James 5:16).
