WELCOME!
WE'RE GLAD YOU'RE HERE
We are a group of believers who simply try to follow the Bible as a guide for all we do. Everything done in our worship service is something for which we have a Bible basis. You are welcome to participate as much or as little as you wish. We will sing hymns together and we will observe the Lord's Supper or Communion together. We will also have an opportunity to give to the work of God in this area. This collection is for the members here, and if you are visiting you should not feel any pressure to give. Our lesson time will be divided into two groups. The young children will go to our classroom area in the basement where they will be taught the Bible at a level they can understand. The adults will stay in the auditorium for a lesson at an adult level. We do try to serve the community, and if you have some needs that we can help you with, mention it to one of the members. Thank you for worshipping with us. FAMILY NEWS
POTLUCK TODAY! This is the first Sunday in May, and we have our monthly potluck scheduled. Plan to stay and enjoy a meal together. We have a few business items that need to be discussed as well. We have decided to delay the ladies class, because the Clayton's lectureship schedule has gotten complicated, and since John and Cynthia were developing and teaching the ladies and the children it seems better to wait until they are here to get it started. Items still remaining are:
- Our Bible study classes starting in June,
This meeting should be brief, but plan to stay for a few
minutes after we eat. The ladies will work out the Bible
class item for - Roof work that is needed, - Driveway resurfacing that is needed, and - The sign to go in front of the building. the children, and the men will discuss the other items. We have purchased a new copy machine for church use by the way. PRAYER LIST. If you have someone who needs our prayers and encouragement, please give it to Karl or Julie Marcussen (before Sunday morning) along with a mailing address and phone number, so that we can have a printed "sick list" by the time of the services on Sunday. We cannot send cards and notes without addresses, so please include that. TODAY'S

E. Are you a spiritual farmer?THE QUIET COUNTRY I long for the
quiet country
Where life is a slower pace Where shadows are mixed with sunshine And blue sky and earth embrace. Out in the quiet country One can sense the presence of God Mid field and stream and forest tall, Green grass and moist, brown sod. I long for the glorious sunrise That wakens the earth from its rest. Announcing the dawn of a new day, And a life abundantly blessed. When it rains in the quiet country And softens the thirsty earth, A prayer of thanksgiving goes upward From each tiny green blade at its birth. In the peace of the quiet country, There whispers a song in the breeze One can hear the voice of God speaking In hillside and flowers and trees. Yes, I long for the quiet country Where dreams live and never grow old, Where hope of a brighter tomorrow In the hands of God unfold. by Linda

NEXT SUNDAY
IS MOTHER'S DAY
This is not a biblical holiday, but is very biblical that we set aside special times to honor those of our number who do special things and are spiritual leaders. Certainly our mothers qualify for that honor. Each of us who are lucky enough to have our mothers still alive should make special personal plans for the day, but our lesson for next Sunday will be directed toward the celebration of motherhood and our mothers, so bring your mother as a special guest to our services to be honored, and let your mother know that you love her and appreciate all she has done for you. |
