WELCOME!
WE'RE GLAD YOU'RE HERE

We are a group of believers who simply try to follow the Bible as a guide for all we do. Everything done in our worship service is something for which we have a Bible basis. You are welcome to participate as much or as little as you wish. We will sing hymns together and we will observe the Lord's Supper or Communion together. We will also have an opportunity to give to the work of God in this area. This collection is for the members here, and if you are visiting you should not feel and pressure to give. Our lesson time will be divided into two groups. The young children will go to our classroom area in the basement where they will be taught the Bible at a level they can understand. The adults will stay in the auditorium for a lesson at an adult level. We do try to serve the community, and if you have some needs that we can help you with, mention it to one of the members. Thank you for worshipping with us.

BIBLE CLASS AT CLAYTONS' TUESDAY: Once a month, Christians from all over the area meet at Cynthia and John Clayton's house for a Bible study. This class has been going on for over 30 years, and it is a great time for discussion and getting to know other Christians from the Michiana area. If you need directions, ask John or Cynthia, but join us at 7:00 Tuesday.

THANKS: To everyone who participated in our highway clean up effort yesterday. The neighborhood is aware that we do this, and it is a great testimony to the community that we are here to serve and be a part of making the world a better place. Our special thanks to Richard Hoyt who does all the leg work on this project, and makes it so we can do it quickly and efficiently.

POTLUCK NEXT SUNDAY: Next Sunday is the first Sunday of the month, and our tradition is to bring a dish and enjoy some good food and good fellowship. Be a part of this! If you cannot bring food, then just bring an appetite — there is always food left over.

GRASPING THE SIZE OF GOD

God is not a physical being, but His power and the magnitude of all He does can be seen in the creation around us. When we wonder how God can do all He tells us He can and will do, we need to remember some things about the size of the creation around us. Here are some facts to help stretch your mind a little:

  • Each time you take a breath you take in a million, billion, billion atoms of oxygen.
  • The period at the end of a sentence contains 100,000,000,000 (one hundred billion) atoms of carbon. To see one carbon atom you would have to enlarge the dot to the size of a football field.
  • If you enlarged the dot to the diameter of the earth (7900 miles) you could see protons and neutrons.
  • To see a quark you would need to stretch the dot to 20 times further than the distance to the moon (or 4,780,000 miles.
  • Each human ceil contains 100 times as many atoms as there are stars in the Milky Way, or 200,000,000,000,000 atoms in a cell.
  • The human body has 100 trillion cells and so each human is made up of 200,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 atoms. That means each human has more atoms in their body than there are stars in the Milky Way.
  • There are 7 billion people on earth so there are 1,400,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 atoms on earth just in people.

David wrote: "When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; What is man that thou are mindful of him." Psalms 8:3-4. In Psalms 139 David continues to praise God for the way God has created us, and Proverbs 8 tells us that Wisdom was involved in the entire creation process. You are special, and God has created you in an incredible way. He has a work for you to do, and our purpose in being here is to encourage one another and motivate each of us to use the talents and ability that God has given us to reach a lost and a dying world.
