WELCOME!
WE'RE GLAD YOU'RE HERE

We are a group of believers who simply try to follow the Bible as a guide for all we do. Everything done in our worship service is something for which we have a Bible basis. You are welcome to participate as much or as little as you wish. We will sing hymns together and we will observe the Lord's Supper or Communion together. We will also have an opportunity to give to the work of God in this area. This collection is for the members here, and if you are visiting you should not feel and pressure to give. Our lesson time will be divided into two groups. The young children will go to our classroom area in the basement where they will be taught the Bible at a level they can understand. The adults will stay in the auditorium for a lesson at an adult level. We do try to serve the community, and if you have some needs that we can help you with, mention it to one of the members. Thank you for worshipping with us.

FAMILY NEWS — GET INVOLVED!

POTLUCK TODAY Please stay for a meal and time of fellowship together. We have plenty of food and we need this time together.

SHULTS-LEWIS COMMODITY DRIVE: We have been asked to supply mayonnaise, Miracle Whip, and various kinds of Salad Dressing for the Shults-Lewis Children's Home. Bring some of those items and leave them on the bench in the lobby. We have the month of June to collect those items.

SAVE FAIR DATES: The Cass County Fair runs from August 3 – 8. We have our usual booth space, and the booth will be pretty much what it was last year. That attracted a lot of attention and was well received so we are using it again. We must have workers for each hour the fair is in operation. Nothing you have to do — just be there to greet people and keep supplies available.

YOU SHOULD HAVE BEEN HERE!

Every once in a while something happens that is an incredible blessing, and sometimes it comes from a source that is completely unplanned. This past Sunday night we had one of those experiences. Richard Hoyt was scheduled to teach our Sunday evening class on the books written by Peter. Because he is recovering from a total knee replacement, Richard requested that the class be held in the fellowship area; that way he could be off his feet. Since we had 16 people and thus could all fit around our Sunday morning study table, we decided to move the whole service to that area.

As we started singing, many of us noticed a huge improvement in our singing. Not only are the acoustics better with the lowered ceiling, but since we are facing each other we can hear each other better, see facial expressions, and feel a closer connection with each other. After Richard completed the class, Pauline Mathis suggested we sing another song or two because it sounded so much better. Our singing is not always appealing to the human ear. We are untrained vocalists, some of us are tone deaf, and the person behind us frequently can throw us off pitch wise. That doesn't matter since God listens to our hearts (Ephesians 5:19), but our encouragement to one another is affected

The spontaneous song service went on for nearly an hour after our services were concluded. We were all encouraged and uplifted. Many of us felt we needed to start having our special study periods on Wednesday and Sunday nights in the fellowship area, which we will do. The first century Church met in homes, and these small confined places would have produced the unity and spirit we experienced Sunday night. Join us tonight and see for yourself.
