WELCOME!
WE'RE GLAD YOU'RE HERE

We are a group of believers who simply try to follow the Bible as a guide for all we do. Everything done in our worship service is something for which we have a Bible basis. You are welcome to participate as much or as little as you wish. We will sing hymns together and we will observe the Lord's Supper or Communion together. We will also have an opportunity to give to the work of God in this area. This collection is for the members here, and if you are visiting you should not feel and pressure to give. Our lesson time will be divided into two groups. The young children will go to our classroom area in the basement where they will be taught the Bible at a level they can understand. The adults will stay in the auditorium for a lesson at an adult level. We do try to serve the community, and if you have some needs that we can help you with, mention it to one of the members. Thank you for worshipping with us.

ON OUR WAY TO CHÍA-ZIPAQUIRÁ, COLOMBIA

This will be my last Sunday with you for a while. If the Lord allows it, on Wednesday, June 28, I will go to Chicago and on Thursday morning catch a flight to Bogotá, Colombia, in South America. On Thursday night the plan is to join a mission team from Peoria, Arizona, and my daughter Wendy. On Friday night I will present a lectureship in Chía at the university there with Jimmy Pinzon, whom I have worked with before, doing the translation into Spanish. On Saturday, July 1, we will do another lectureship at Chía. Next Sunday I will teach a class and preach at the congregation in Chía in the morning and do another lectureship Sunday night.

On Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday the group will sing at public squares in English, and as crowds gather, the Spanish speaking ministers and workers will set up Bible studies in Chía and the neighboring town of Zipaquirá. There are two orphanages at Chía and Zipaquirá, and I will be doing two programs for children at the orphanages. I am also speaking to the ministers from all over Colombia at a training session on apologetics, and will be doing multiple question/answer sessions. On Friday, July 7, we hope to board planes and head back home, arriving Saturday morning around 1:00 A.M. If everything goes according to plan, I hope to be back with you on July 9, but I will not plan to speak that Sunday.

It will be an exhausting week for an old man, and you probably want to ask, why do it? South America is a country where atheism is growing at a huge rate. The Roman Catholic church has dominated the religious scene in South America for centuries, and the failures of leading Catholics to follow the moral teachings of Jesus have disillusioned many people. Richard Dawkins, a leading atheist, is scheduled to have a debate with the Catholic bishop of Colombia on the existence of God, and organized atheism is plugging the debate. People are hungry to know how we can know there is a God, and missionaries in Colombia are begging us to come. Please pray for this effort and for our safety.
