WELCOME!
WE'RE GLAD YOU'RE HERE

We are a group of believers who simply try to follow the Bible as a guide for all we do. Everything done in our worship service is something for which we have a Bible basis. You are welcome to participate as much or as little as you wish. We will sing hymns together and we will observe the Lord's Supper or Communion together. We will also have an opportunity to give to the work of God in this area. This collection is for the members here, and if you are visiting you should not feel and pressure to give. Our lesson time will be divided into two groups. The young children will go to our classroom area in the basement where they will be taught the Bible at a level they can understand. The adults will stay in the auditorium for a lesson at an adult level. We do try to serve the community, and if you have some needs that we can help you with, mention it to one of the members. Thank you for worshipping with us.

FAMILY NEWS

POTLUCK TODAY — PLEASE stay and enjoy good food and fellowship. After the potluck at 2:30 we conduct a worship service at Timbers. We need you! Please come with your voice and a willingness to share with folks who want you to visit with them.

THANKS to everyone who prepared our fair booth, and to those who worked as attendants. We heard a lot of very positive comments, and tons of people participated. This was a huge effort involving a lot of people and a good spirit of cooperation! We also want to thank those who helped in the funeral and feeding of visitors to the Harasewicz funeral for David on Saturday. We carried a large part of the load, and we appreciate how everyone pitched in to help.

BLOOD DRIVE will be here on Saturday, September 9 from 10:00 AM to 2:45 PM. We need workers, donors, cookie makers, and help in getting the word out. We have flyers to distribute in the area and at public places. This is wonderful publicity for our congregation as we continue to be active in the community. See Tracey Brewer for more info.

THE BACK PAGE

QUITE A WEEK

The last two weeks have been incredible in the work program of this congregation. We started with the highway cleanup on the 22nd, followed by the preparation of our booth at the Cass County Fair. There are so many people who did so many things that I hesitate to mention names, but we had people making up posters, painting sections of the exhibit, working on handouts and printing explanations, and organizing and making gifts available to people who came by the exhibit. Interest in the exhibit was great, and we will be seeing contacts made at the fair in the future in other efforts.

Most of you know that David Harasewicz died tragically at his birthday party when he choked on some meat and no one was able to revive him. Jim, Brenda, and David have worked with us for many years and so we were involved in the services which were conducted yesterday. Three congregations of the Lord's church worked together with Mishawaka and Niles working with us to honor David and support Jim and Brenda. The Niles congregation was centrally located so the dinner after the funeral was held there, and Mishawaka, where the Harasewicz family has been working for the past several years, conducted the service. We provided much of the food for the dinner for the family and those who knew David which took place after the funeral.

Today after our potluck we will be conducting services at Timbers Nursing Home at 2:30 and we will also be tearing down the booth at the Cass County Fairgrounds. Our next project will be the hosting of the blood drive for the American Red Cross here at the building. We have brochures prepared and want to encourage everyone to contact those who can give blood and encourage them to come between 10:00 AM and 2:45 PM on Saturday, September 9, and give blood. We will have more on this project as the date gets closer, but if you have questions see Tracey Brewer. On September 17 we will have a guest speaker, John Cooper from Grand Junction, Colorado, who will bring us a special message. More on that later.

All of this is a twenty-first century version of Acts 2:42 – 47. We are known in the area for our work, and we have found favor with all the people. We are continually striving for unity and “singleness of heart.” Thank God that you are a dart of a dynamic, growing, active group of believers who nave a special relationship with Jesus Christ. Let us look forward to more opportunities to glorify God!
