WELCOME!
WE'RE GLAD YOU'RE HERE

We are a group of believers who simply try to follow the Bible as a guide for all we do. Everything done in our worship service is something for which we have a Bible basis. You are welcome to participate as much or as little as you wish. We will sing hymns together and we will observe the Lord's Supper or Communion together. We will also have an opportunity to give to the work of God in this area. This collection is for the members here, and if you are visiting you should not feel and pressure to give. Our lesson time will be divided into two groups. The young children will go to our classroom area in the basement where they will be taught the Bible at a level they can understand. The adults will stay in the auditorium for a lesson at an adult level. We do try to serve the community, and if you have some needs that we can help you with, mention it to one of the members. Thank you for worshipping with us.

FAMILY NEWS

SAVE FEBRUARY 9: We have some major construction issues we need to work on, and we need all the hands and muscles we can get. See The Back Page below for more on this subject!

WEATHER PROCEDURE: If the weather is bad for any service we have we will use a phone tree to advise everyone of whether services are canceled or not. The Gibsons are the closest ones to the building and will make the final decision based on road conditions in Dowagiac. If services are canceled we have a chain set up where anyone who attends regularly will be called. If you have doubts, call the Gibsons at 269-782-4564 or the Claytons at 269-687-9426.

NEW CLASSES: Our Sunday morning class at 10:00 A.M. is based on a Internet video series we will watch called “The Bible Project Class.” See Karl, if you want to watch the series on your computer at home. It is new material for most of us, and you will learn. Come and be a part of this new class. Our Wednesday night class will focus on the books of Timothy starting this coming Wednesday. Timothy is loaded with how the church is to approach the issues of the day — from women's issues to qualifications for elders.

THE BACK PAGE

NEED FOR A WORK DAY

We are getting near the time when the contractor will come in and do the major construction needed to correct the problems with our building. The target date is in March, but we need to have it ready in February because we are on wait list if the contractor has a cancellation. What we need to do is the following:

  1. Pull out the fence near the building.
  2. Pull out the big bush near the auditorium door
  3. Pull out all carpeting from the vestibule down the steps and in the basement.
  4. Empty the basement furnace room and prepare to have the water heater taken out, including the steps near the basement.

Removing the steps and the water heater will be a last minute thing when we are sure of the date.

FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION: While we are doing all of this, why not spend a little more money and replace some things? We need a pump and water heater replacement so we have abundant hot water in all the rest rooms and the kitchen area.

WHAT SHALL I WISH YOU?

  • What shall I wish thee?
  • ........Treasures of earth?
  • ................Songs in the springtime,
  • ........................Pleasure and mirth?
  • ................................Flowers on thy pathway,
  • ........................................Skies ever clear?
  • ................................................Would these insure thee
  • ........................................................A Happy New Year?
  • Peace in the Savior,
  • ........Rest at His feet,
  • ................Smile on His Countenance,
  • ........................Radiant and sweet,
  • ................................Joy in His presence!
  • ........................................Christ ever near!
  • ................................................This will insure thee
  • ........................................................A Happy New Year!

Our sign by the street!

Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow!

The quotation on the sign is from Isaiah 1:18 (NIV).
