FAMILY NEWSLADIES BIBLE CLASS: Next Saturday, March 16 at 10:00 A.M., the ladies will continue studying purity of the heart. This is a special time for Bible study, prayer, and sharing among sisters. Please come join them to be a part of this. PROPOSED CHANGE FOR OUR WEDNESDAY NIGHT BIBLE CLASS: For many years our Wednesday night class has met at 7:15 P.M. to allow people working late to get to class. That no longer seems to be a need among us and there are some who would like to come earlier and leave earlier. We are proposing that starting April 3 we start meeting at 7:00 PM every Wednesday. Please let us hear from you, especially if it would make it harder for you to be at class on time. Tell Bill Gibson, Richard Hoyt, or Karl Marcussen what your feelings are on this. CONSTRUCTION TO UPGRADE OUR BUILDING STARTS IN ONE WEEK, MARCH 18TH. There is still a great deal of work to be done before the construction, during the construction, and after the construction. The week of the 17th should see the construction company finishing the heavy work. Afterwards we will need to put the carpet back down, move shelving, stairs and cabinets, and paint — all on the inside. As the weather improves outside work will also be needed. See Bill Gibson who is overseeing this. TODAY'S LESSON

WORLD MORALS“Blessed are you when they will revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. … You are the salt of the earth; … You are the light of the world. … Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:11-16 NKJV). Today's sermon is politically unacceptable in today's world. Our culture has decided that personal choice trumps everything else and that anything that violates anyone's personal desires is unacceptable. The fact that all scientific evidence shows that recreational marijuana is dangerous and destructive not only to the individual but to everyone around that individual is ignored. Medical marijuana which has been shown to be useful and helpful to some medical conditions is lumped together with the street corner joint to justify recreational use. The definition of marriage has been changed from Genesis 2:24 to include any union anyone desires including marriage to animals, group marriages, and even marriage between siblings. In today's lesson we have looked at the abortion issue as concern for the welfare of small children and infants is thrown out for sake of adult inconvenience and selfishness. The question for those of us who are Christians is how are we to respond to this? You cannot confront destructive, selfish, sinful behavior with another sinful behavior. We cannot endorse violence as a means of fighting the flagrant sin our government is promoting. Jesus tells us to expect to be reviled, persecuted, abused, and hated by the world around us. Our response has to be to turn the other cheek … go the second mile … love your enemies … be complete (perfect) (Matthew 5:38-48). In 1 Peter 3:8-15 Peter talks about what our choice has to be. Read the passage and thank God for every day we have where we are not thrown into prison because we give an answer of the hope that is within us. — John Clayton Our sign by the street!Sign saying from Psalm 139:13 Scripture links/references are from BibleGateway.com.
