WELCOME!
WE'RE GLAD YOU'RE HERE

We are a group of believers who simply try to follow the Bible as a guide for all we do. Everything done in our worship service is something for which we have a Bible basis. You are welcome to participate as much or as little as you wish. We will sing hymns together and we will observe the Lord's Supper or Communion together. We will also have an opportunity to give to the work of God in this area. This collection is for the members here, and if you are visiting you should not feel and pressure to give. Our lesson time will be divided into two groups. The young children will go to our classroom area in the basement where they will be taught the Bible at a level they can understand. The adults will stay in the auditorium for a lesson at an adult level. We do try to serve the community, and if you have some needs that we can help you with, mention it to one of the members. Thank you for worshipping with us.

FAMILY NEWS

CONSTRUCTION WEEK: Starting tomorrow morning heavy construction equipment will be working on our building and repairing the water issues that have been bothering us for the past year. We need people to take shifts being here to answer questions, lock and unlock the building and assist the construction workers Monday through Friday. See Bill Gibson if you can help this week. The next time you read this bulletin the work should be done by the heavy equipment and then we need to get involved as a congregation to finish the work.

O TO BE LIKE THEE is the sermon today, and the main point is what we think Jesus would do if he were part of our workers here in Dowagiac. Right now we know of 25 people who need prayers, help, support, and/or attention who are either part of our number here or are in some way related to our membership. We can all send cards, make phone calls, and many of us can visit folks in need. This is a major regular part of our ministry to the area we serve, but we all need to be involved. We thank the Marcussens for keeping us aware of needs. See Julie for an up-to-date list. Get involved!

WEDNESDAY NIGHT TIME CHANGES APRIL 3 unless we hear from you that starting at 7:00 will not work for you.

BUSY SUMMER AHEAD
THIS WEDNESDAY IS THE FIRST DAY OF SPRING!

I do not know about everyone else, but I am ready for spring and summer. The year 2019 is going to be an incredible for this congregation. It starts with our major construction this week as our building is stabilized and improvements are made in our facility. Starting next weekend we have the monumental job of putting everything back in place and hopefully upgrading our classrooms as we go. Carpet has to be replaced, the stairs have to be replaced, inside wood working and painting has to be done, some plumbing work is needed, the fencing around our children's play area has to be put back, the lawn needs to be re-seeded and smoothed, and replanting and landscaping is needed.

All of this has to happen while our regular works are continued. The food bank, the coat give-away, the devotional at Timbers, the highway cleanup on April 13, the senior activities, the ladies' class on the third Saturday of the month, our mission work with Glynn Langston and Shults Lewis and our regular classes will all continue. On June 29 we will have our second “Dowagiac Community Fun Fair” which last year brought large numbers of our community to our facility. September 28 – 29 we plan to have another weekend with Willie Franklin, and young people from the entire area will be with us for the day on Saturday as well as Sunday program for evetyone.

The big question is, who is going to do all of this? In the past we nave relied on a few families to get things done. For some of these families summer is the busiest time of year for their occupations. Bill and Patty have their campground going full steam during these months. Richard has resigned from his truss company work and is in a new role in the storage garages that his family has purchased in Niles. This is in addition to health issues in his family. Karl and Julie drive nearly 100 miles for each round trip to the building and Karl is still working full time with the Does God Exist? ministry so their available time is limited.

The bottom line of all of this is that THE LORD NEEDS YOU. If each of us gives a tithe of our TIME (not money), we can get all this done. In a week we will start listing things that need to be done. Volunteer to take one of these projects on! Everyone can participate!
