Home Worship Services Sermons Location Contacts Bulletins Links |
DUE to the COVID-19 pandemic FAMILY NEWSWe distribute this bulletin in a variety of different ways. We hand it out during our worship services at the church building; it is made available on the web at our dowagiaccoc.org website; it is sent by e-mail/messaging connected with our Zoom broadcast invitations. However you receive it, we hope it will be informative and encouraging. We are not a denomination but a local effort to encourage people to follow what the church was like in the first century. We have no man-made creed and only follow the Bible. We do not have religious titles and do not solicit donations. Come and learn more by visiting with us, e-mailing us, or calling us. SINCE we are now having three Zoom meetings a week, make sure you read carefully the Zoom invitations for the dates and times. We had some confusion this past week. WEDNESDAY NIGHT CLASS ON ZOOM STARTS THIS WEEK at 7:00 P.M. Richard Hoyt will resume his class this Wednesday on Israel's history as revealed in 1 and 2 Samuel, 1 and 2 Kings, and 1 and 2 Chronicles. This study is complicated because the books are not chronological. Richard has spent massive amounts of time researching the material in this study. We mailed some handout sheets to those on Zoom who expressed an interest. Those not on Zoom can come to the building if you choose to do so. If you have a computer or smartphone and want to be in the class, contact Karl Marcussen at 574-514-1400 or marcusen@michiana.org. ATTENTION LADIES: There is a ladies prayer meeting on Zoom at 1:00 P.M. every Thursday. This time is excellent for fellowship and prayer. If you have a smartphone, tablet, or computer, you can be a part of this. If you have not been contacted and want to participate call or text Della Bundle or Cindy Clayton. If you are interested in an evening prayer time, call Julie Marcussen. TODAY'S LESSON

THE BACK PAGETHE BEAUTY OF ZOOMWe have had a majority of our members participating in worship electronically through the Zoom program for some time now. Karl Marcussen has been managing this program and has done an incredible job. The bugs seem to be pretty well worked out of the system now, although our own home electronics can sometimes mess us up individually. Gary and Della Bundle have also been able to use this system. Still, we hope that there will be someone else who can take the time to learn how to run it so that if Karl or both Bundles are incapacitated somehow or are visiting grandkids, we are still able to use the program. The advantages this system offers are incredible. It helps us avoid the COVID virus, but it also allows us to meet together even if we are traveling. Deb Pattengale can be with us even though she and Steve are in Wellborn, Florida. Jim and Brenda Harasewicz have been with us regularly, even though they are in Indianapolis. When you are out of town or ill, you can still worship with us. Another beautiful part of Zoom is that it allows us to have time together that would otherwise be difficult. The ladies are having a prayer time on Thursdays, as noted in FAMILY NEWS above. The men met on Zoom for prayer and discussion about the future work of the church. We are now starting a Wednesday night Bible class taught by Richard Hoyt in the Old Testament. When we get this debugged and have figured out how to get handouts to everyone, we hope to start a Sunday night class. Zoom allows all of us to participate. The weather is not an issue. If you do not get off work until 6:00 P.M., you can still be a part of the class. We are adding visitors to our classes and worship, and even though we may not know them and do not have their names, we know the Lord will make good things come out of their being with us. — John Clayton Our sign by the street!
