Veterans Day 2021

WELCOME!
WE'RE GLAD YOU'RE HERE

We are a group of believers who simply try to follow the Bible as a guide for all we do. Everything done in our worship service is something for which we have a Bible basis. You are welcome to participate as much or as little as you wish. We will sing hymns together and we will observe the Lord's Supper or Communion together. We will also have an opportunity to give to the work of God in this area. This collection is for the members here, and if you are visiting you should not feel and pressure to give. Our lesson time will be divided into two groups. The young children will go to our classroom area in the basement where they will be taught the Bible at a level they can understand. The adults will stay in the auditorium for a lesson at an adult level. We do try to serve the community, and if you have some needs that we can help you with, mention it to one of the members. Thank you for worshipping with us.

VETERANS DAY 2021

WHO IS A VETERAN?

The 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month 1918 the Armistice was signed in Le Francport near Compeigne France (the actual Armistice was not signed until June 10, 1920 in Versailles France) all of us know that this did not end all wars, we have veterans with us today that have served in the Persian Gulf, Iraq, Afghanistan, and many others not listed as “wars” that our veterans have been involved in.

Let us look at the term Veteran:

V--is for valiant, the dictionary defines it simply as brave or courageous. No one knows how brave or courageous you are until called upon to be, there are unnumbered veterans who were AND Are called each and every day to be valiant!

E--is for ever ready, whether at 3 A.M. or 10 P.M. or any time in between

T--is for trained-we were all trained to do our job and trained well, whether as an infantry man, artillery scout/spotter, a medic or a pilot or any other classification.

E--is for energetic, if you weren't filled with energy in what you were assigned to do the job was not done efficiently and not only you but others were effected.

R--is we responded to our country's call to serve either enlisted or drafted-now there is no draft. Not knowing where we would be sent.

A--is for alert, there was a severe penalty for “falling asleep” on guard duty or smoking during night time hours, even on ship at sea.

N--is for never missing roll call or any other thing, if so you were considered AWOL (absent without official leave) every branch of service has their own “lingo” but this is used by ALL branches!! So on Thursday this week (11/11/21) when you think of veterans think of VALIANT, EVER READY (not the battery), TRAINED, ENERGETIC, RESPONDED, ALERT AND NEVER MISSING ROLL CALL

NOW use those same characteristics in our service for Christ today!
